From the runways to television, a beautiful familiar face will greet viewers of Israel's version of "The X Factor."
Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli has been tapped to host the upcoming fall singing competition in her native country, premiering on Israel's Channel 2 network via Reshet Broadcasting.
Reshet acquired the rights to the Israel adaptation after a similar adaptation of "The Voice" proved popular among viewers, hitting ratings highs after its January 2012 premiere. Television spots are currently heavily promoting the Fall debut of the series, featuring series creator and producer Simon Cowell.
This will not be the supermodel's first attempt at hosting a televised event. The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl served as emcee for Bravo's "Tommy Hilfiger Presents Ironic Iconic America" as well as the German model casting reality series "Million Dollar Shooting Star" for the country's Sat. 1 network.
Refaeli joins a judges panel which includes: Rami Fortis, a veteran Israeli rock musician, and pop artists Moshe Peretz and Ivri Lider. The fourth chair is said to be occupied by ballad singer Shiri Maimon, though this has yet to be confirmed.
The model has graced the covers of fashion and pop culture magazines around the world, first garnering attention in the US due to her relationship with actor Leonardo DiCaprio. Recently, she made waves in the Super Bowl ad for Go Daddy which featured her making out with a bespectacled computer nerd.
