A sketch comedy show from an outspoken comedian will get a second season.
Amy Schumer tweeted on Monday that her Comedy Central show “Inside Amy Schumer” will be back. “Hey! #InsideAmy Schumer got picked up for Season 2! Thanks @ComedyCentral New episode tomorrow at 10:30/9:30 Central.”
The show airs Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. Its debut last month had strong ratings, with 1.6 million total viewers and 1.2 million adults age 18-49. It also had a 2.4 rating among 18-34 men in its first episode.
Schumer and Daniel Powell are the show’s executive producers, and they write the show along with Jessi Klein, Kyle Dunnigan, Gabe Liedman, Kurt Metzger and Tig Notaro. Neil Brennan, Steven Tsuchida and John Lee direct.
Schumer placed fourth in NBC’s fifth season of “Last Comic Standing.” She also placed second on Comedy Central’s “Reality Bites Back,” competing with 10 other comedians in competitions spoofing reality shows. Theo Vonkurnatowski eventually won.
Schumer has also recurred on Fox News’ “Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld.” She has also had roles in “30 Rock,” “Live at Gotham,” “Delocated” on Adult Swim, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and HBO’s “Girls.” She also appeared in “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.”
