British actress Ashley Madekwe has apparently gotten her fill of 'Revenge.' Deadline is reporting that Madekwe's character will not be included in the storyline in the coming season, so Madekwe's option was allowed to lapse.
The thirty-one year old beauty previously appeared on 'Bedlam' and 'The Secret Diary of a Call Girl' and has been classically-trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, UK. That training came into play as her 'Revenge' character Ashley Davenport underwent a metamorphosis since the pilot. Ashley was introduced as Victoria Grayson’s (Madeline Stowe) event planner and a friend to Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp), who brought her into the Grayson family. Driven by ambition, she fell for the diabolical Tyler (Ashton Holmes) and eventually managed to bed both Conrad Grayson (Henry Czerny) and his son Daniel (Joshua Bowman). By the end of Season 1, Ashley’s storyline played out, but the producers found a way to bring her back in a new role as Conrad’s assistant and then PR for his political campaign. With Conrad winning the election in the second-season finale, that story arc also came to a natural conclusion.
Connor Paolo's character will also be departing the series and not appearing in the upcoming third season; if you're a fan of the show, you already know the reason why. These casting and storyline changes come about as Sunil Nayar takes over as the new showrunner for the upcoming season, replacing Mike Kelley, the creator of the hit ABC series.
'Revenge' is described as a guilty pleasure drama soap opera filled with intrigue, twists and double-crosses. The plot is about a young woman who returns to The Hamptons to exact revenge on people who destroyed her previous life.
