One of the executive producers at USA's Suits has signed a new deal with 20th Television.
Jon Cowan, a writer-producer, has signed a two-year overall deal with the studio. Cowan's resume includes experience with Private Practice, My Generation and Crossing Jordan. Under the deal, Cowan will slide over to 20th from Universal Television.
His deal is a blind script deal with 20th Television and began in May.
"We had a fantastic experience with him in our last two development cycles, and every network is interested in his work," 20th Television chairman Gary Newman said. "He has a truly unique and remarkable voice and he can write just about any genre, from procedurals to thrillers to character-driven shows. He’s a really talented writer who we think will be a great addition to our roster.”
There is no word on how this deal will affect his relationship with Suits. That program, whcih stars Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht, is scheduled to begin its third season next month on July 16.
In addition to the shows already mentioned, Cowan has worked on Bionic Woman, Summerland, The Lyon's Den and a variety of TV movies, including Eastwick, The Warden, Princess of Thieves, What We Did That Night and Take Me Home: The John Denver Story.
