'Drop Dead Diva' adds new guest stars

BrannaghLifetime's 'Drop Dead Diva' was recently zombiefied, after the network brought it back to life after killing it off. As the program prepares to launch its fifth season June 23 at 9 p.m., it is announcing some of the new faces that will be showing up.

The latest announced additions are Brigid Brannagh and Reiko Aylesworth. Brannagh is a Lifetime vet who plays Pamela Moran on 'Army Wives'. She will be appearing as Molly Hagen, a woman who tries to leave her loser husband behind after she hits the jackpot at a casino. In her episode, which is scheduled to be the season's fifth, Sandra Bernhard will also be appearing, as a judge who feels for Moran.

Aylesworth, on the other hand, will be in the sixth episode and will play June Frazier, a graphic designer who needs Kim Kaswell's (Kate Levering) legal assistance. Aylesworth is best known for playing Michelle Dessler on Fox's '24'.

John Ratzenberger is also scheduled to guest star sometime in the fifth season.

Aylesworth"I first worked with Brigid over 10 years ago when she guest starred on a first-season episode of CSI [when he was an executive producer] as an unruly teenager who killed her father with a radioactive garden gnome," he said. "I have followed her career ever since, and I'm thrilled to be reunited with her on Drop Dead Diva. And I'm glad to say that there are no garden gnomes in this episode," said Josh Berman, an executive producer with the program. "I've been a huge fan of Reiko since her days on 24, and we developed this part with Reiko in mind. I was thrilled when she read the script and jumped on board! Sometimes, I feel more like a fan than a writer as I just can't wait to see what she does with this role."

I'm excited to see these two ladies, but I'm disappointed Parker (Josh Stamberg) won't be returning. Now, Kim has no love interest, and will she raise their baby by herself?
