For Generation X, she is the epitome of what a girl should be; smart, strong, well rounded and able to kick butt with the best of them. Sarah Michelle Gellar is known for doing her own stunts and beating up bad guys on Buffy, The Vampire Slayer. Now, she’s embarking on a new quest, one to kick the butt of Pertussis. Every mother gets acquainted with this disease when you take your child in for vaccinations at two months of age. Part of a standard set, the DTaP is part of a common lifesaving regimen for our children. Or so it used to be. With the rise in cases of whooping cough (Pertussis), Gellar (a mother of two) is joining the fight to bring awareness of the disease to the forefront.
The public hasn’t needed reminder of this woman’s accomplishments in years. But, if we did, she’s also getting ready to co-star in a brand new comedy opposite Robin Williams. The Crazy Ones, is about Zach Cropper, played by James Wolk, and his travels through an advertising company owned by a father-daughter team. Sarah Michelle Gellar plays the serious counterpart to a Father who is eccentric to say the least. When asked how she managed to keep her head and remain calm amidst the hilarious antics of Robin Williams, she replied it’s a lesson she learned while being a mom. No matter how bad you want to laugh, you just really can’t. She did admit though that it was after all, Robin Williams, and that means you just completely lose it from time to time.
The Crazy One’s appears on CBS this fall. For the full interview via Huffington Post Live you can click here.
