Gordon Clapp joining Frank Darabont's 'Lost Angels'

Gordon Clapp is best known to TV fans as Detective Greg Medavoy on 'NYPD Blue.' Now, Clapp is going to take a turn on the other side of the law...

Clapp is presently negotiating a role in the upcoming TNT period crime drama 'Lost Angels,' from Frank Darabont (former 'The Walking Dead' showrunner). Clapp's role would be recurring on the 1940s drama, as an aging crook, recently released from a long prison term. Clapp's character is now working as a busboy at an Italian restaurant, but something tells me he hasn't left his criminal ways behind completely...

'Lost Angels' centers on the struggle for control of Los Angeles during the 1940s and 1950s, where police and mobsters squared off in violent and financial confrontations. Yesterday we reported that Ernie Hudson ('Ghostbusters,' 'Oz') is in negotiations to star in 'Lost Angels,' which is quickly amassing a lot of buzz. Hudson would play Bunny, a mobster vying for control of the criminal empire growing in Los Angeles at the time. Bunny works closely with Bugsy Siegel as the pair try to gain control of all of the clubs and illegal operations throughout the city.

Following the hit Rockstar video game 'L.A. Noire,' 'Lost Angels' seems to capture the pulp noir intrigue and adventure that transforms the West Coast during the 1940s into a second coming of the wild West.

Clapp's recent television work includes a recurring role on the hit series 'Damages' and a guest appearance on 'In Plain Sight' in 2011.
