Yesterday TV Rage told you about Shannon Richardson, the actress/extra who was arrested due to her alleged involvement in mailing ricin-laced letters to President Barack Obama, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and gun control advocate Mark Glaze.
Many of our readers shared a similar reaction upon learning the news - "Uh, who is she?"
Do not feel bad if the name does not ring a bell. In fact, staff members at the two series she appeared on could not place her when asked.
Glen Mazzara ('The Walking Dead') and Julie Plec ('The Vampire Diaries') were contacted by media agencies about Richardson and what they remembered about working with her. Both drew a blank.
Richardson's work on each show was very, very brief and she did not stand out at all to either staff member. She appeared on 'The Walking Dead' as a "walker" in two episodes during the show's first season, while her role on 'The Vampire Diaries' was similar in size.
"Some actress from TWD sent ricin letters to the Prez? Never heard of her. Anyone know what role she played?" Mazzara, an executive producer and the former showrunner at 'The Walking Dead,' tweeted.
"If she played an equivalent part to one she supposedly played on TVD, she was third background from the right. Or something," wrote Plec in response to Mazzara. Plec is the showrunner at 'The Vampire Diaries.'
Richardson has been charged with mailing threatening communication to President Obama. She could face up to 10 years in jail for her alleged crime, which she is blaming on her husband, who she is in the process of getting divorced from.
We will have more updates on this crazy story when they emerge.
