Good news for Pope/Ballard shippers, Scott Foley will be returning to ‘Scandal’ next season with a shiny, brand new promotion. Foley, who plays the naval officer/sometimes spy/sometimes romantic interest on ‘Scandal’, has been upped to a series regular on Shonda Rhimes’ smash hit political drama.
"I'm thrilled to join such a talented, enthusiastic and professional group of people," Foley said in a statement. "Shonda and company have created a troupe of layered, complex characters, and to be able to be part of that is both exciting and humbling."
I guess this means that Scott won’t be left at the bottom of that hole for the rest of next season. Foley currently stars on the Fox series ‘The Goodwin Games’ which, after poor ratings, is not expected to continue once its initial run is over. At least he now has another full-time gig to fall back on.
It seems that Foley’s dream has come true when it comes to his role on ‘Scandal’. Having worked with Rhimes in the past on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, the pair has a great working relationship and Foley has previously expressed his desire to stay with ‘Scandal’ on a long term basis. “There’s the possibility of permanence,” said Foley back at the end of season 2, “Shonda and I have talked about something longer. I love this show, and I’d love to be there as long as they’ll have me.”
Are you happy that Foley will have a permanent presence on the next season of ‘Scandal’?
