Can't make it to any concerts this summer? Is your favorite artist's tour skipping your town?
E! is hoping to help bring the music to you. The network has announced that it is teaming up with concert promoter Live Nation for 'E!'s Inside Track Summer Concert Series,' which will be a regular part of E! News.
It kicks off this Friday, June 21, at 7 p.m. ET with footage from Pitbull and Ke$ha's Detroit concert.
Other performances announced as occurring on the summer concert series are New Kids on the Block, Big Time Rush, Matchbox 20, the Goo Goo Dolls, The Jonas Brothers, Brad Paisley and the Backstreet Boys.
In addition to performances, each segment will also include an interview and behind-the-scenes footage. On E!'s website, viewers will also have the chance to win free tickets from Live Nation.
"E! thrives in the music space, and we’re excited to team up with Live Nation in a unique way that takes the summer concert series to a whole new level," said Cyndi McClellan, E! News and E! network strategy president. "Not only will viewers see their favorite music megastars taking the stage, we're also serving the super fan with unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to these performers."
Suzanne Kolb, E!'s president, has discussed creating DVR-proof material for viewers.
"There's a real hunger for that [live] experience, which in some ways has been further fueled by the growth of DVR," she said in February. "In today's world of social media, live TV starts the conversation that lives on Twitter and other social networks."
Do you think this fits the bill of what she was talking about?
