Showtime debuts first episode of 'Ray Donovan' online
While the network premiere of its upcoming crime drama "Ray Donovan" is right around the corner, Showtime is hoping to generate a little buzz for the series.
In an effort to get the new series off to a heated start, the network has made the full pilot episode available for online viewers to check out in its entirety via Showtime's YouTube account.
The series centers on the titular character, the consummate problem solver in the tawdry underbelly of Los Angeles. Donovan handles the dirty work for the city's biggest players, from celebrities to superstar athletes to corporate honchos, the fixer makes the problems of these people disappear by any means necessary. However, his family and work life are thrown for a loop when his career criminal father ("Heat"'s Jon Voight) is unexpectedly released from prison.
The series marks the first lead television role for Liev Schrieber, perhaps best known for his big screen efforts from big budget action such as "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" to acclaimed indie works such as "The Daytrippers" and "Walking & Talking."
