A “Hatfields & McCoys” star has been cast in the NBC “Chicago Fire” spinoff.
Jesse Lee Soffer will play a young police detective from the wrong side of the tracks in “Chicago PD.” He will first appear on “Chicago Fire,” then be transitioned to the police drama, since the shows aren’t in production at the same time.
Melissa Sagemiller (“Soul Survivor”) appeared in the “Chicago Fire” season one finale, the planted spinoff to the new drama about the Chicago Police Department, but will not continue on the show.
Tania Raymonde and Scott Eastwood were also recently cast. It is unknown which actors from “Chicago Fire” will be transferred to the spinoff. Jon Seda, who has recurred as Chicago PD Detective Antonio Dawson, is considered a strong possibility.
Dick Wolf (“Law and Order”), Danielle Gelber, Michael Brandt, Derek Haas, Matt Olmstead and Peter Jankowski executive produce “Chicago Fire.” Haas, Brandt, Olmstead and Wolf would oversee the new project from Universal Television and Wolf Films.
Taylor Kinney (“The Vampire Diaries”), Jesse Spencer(“House M.D.”), Charlie Barnett, Monica Raymund, Lauren German, Eamonn Walker, David Eigenberg and Teri Reeves star in “Chicago Fire,” a drama about Chicago fire fighters and paramedics.
Soffer also appeared on Fox’s “Mob Doctor” as a regular.
Soffer is represented by Silver Lining Entertainment and Innovative Artists.
“Chicago Fire” airs Wednesday at 10 ET.
