For my generation, 'Total Request Live' was a staple of our progression through teeny-bopper to adulthood. Like it is with so many things we grew up with, once we hit that mature, tax-paying status we refused to give it up. It’s a good thing we were nostalgic; this is where me met Vanessa Minnillo. And while she’s done a lot more, including a stint on 'Bold and the Beautiful', the model turned hostess counting down our favorites with poise, is what we remember most. That, and of course being married to The Queen City’s own, Nick Lachey.
Vanessa Lachey, as we know her now, stopped by HuffPost Live recently to discuss what she’s been up to. As a new mom, Proctor and Gamble is a company you get familiar with. They are involved with almost every household product we use on a daily basis including: Downey, Cascade, Bounty, and Febreeze. P&G is also responsible for the company that Mrs. Lachey is partnering with, Tide Laundry Detergent, in an effort to encourage cold water washing. If that wasn’t enough, she has a new show coming out this fall, 'Dads'. From the creator of 'Family Guy', Seth MacFarlane, 'Dads' is about two friends whose fathers move back in. The cast includes Seth Green, Martin Mull, and Giovanni Ribisi who will be playing Vanessa Lachey’s husband.
When asked if she herself has ever had to experience going back to parent co-habitation, she stated she had not yet. She added that the joy of Camilla, her character, is that she keeps everyone grounded. In 'Dads', these are characters that are reminiscent of the in-laws we’ve all had to deal with. As such we can relate to them and find something that strikes home no matter the parent/child dynamic that is currently going on.
From one long standing Cincy girl to one recently inducted, we look forward to seeing more.
