Discovery announces a new series, ‘Warlocks Rising,’ which will debut Friday, July 5th. The series will follow the motorcycle gang subculture, peering into lives of members of Florida’s Warlock Motorcycle Club. These showcased “one-percenters,” the element that battles with law enforcement, will make sacrifices to prove their loyalty to the club.
The current order is four hour-long episodes of the show. According to Discovery’s press release, “Each episode follows this group of bikers as they struggle to solve their personal problems while staying true to the Warlocks' 1% life.”
Discovery already airs ‘The Devil’s Ride, ’ (to the left) a show that goes inside San Diego's biker gang the Laffing Devils. It is unclear whether ‘Warlocks’ will follow this same format.
This may also be a decision for Discovery based on the strong following of FX’s fictional biker show ‘Sons of Anarchy.’
13 Navy sailors founded the club in 1967. Aboard an eight-month deployment of the U.S.S. Attack Carrier Shangri-La, the sailors mused about their lives and about what they would do once they had completed their service. Being into motorcycles and partying, they formed the club, with one member creating the blazing phoenix patch. They returned home vowing to create a club chapter in each of their hometowns.
The Warlock motto according to their website states: “To find us… you must be good. To catch us… you must be fast. To beat us… you must be kidding!”
