'Mad Men' finales are never something you want to miss, but that applies doubly so to the season 6 finale, according to star Vincent Kartheiser.
Kartheiser, who plays Pete Campbell on the series, recently chatted with TV Guide about the episode, "In Care Of," which airs Sunday night at 10/9c. The actor had nothing but positive things to say about the finale -- in fact, his enthusiasm flirts with hyperbole.
"The finale is great. Matthew continues to raise it to an even higher level, and people are going to be really surprised by the finale," he said.
Okay, fine. 'Mad Men' finales have been surprising before -- who can forget the sudden decision to form their own company in season 3's "Shut the Door, Have a Seat," or Don's sudden proposal to Megan in the next season's "Tomorrowland." But Kartheiser promises that season 6 will be even more surprising.
"Yes, [they'll] definitely [be shocked more so than in the past]. They'll definitely be shocked."
And then there's this little tidbit that Kartheiser shared -- or, rather, didn't share -- about the finale.
When asked if he thinks Pete regrets the dissolution of his marriage with Trudy (Alison Brie), he paused before refusing to answer. Similarly, he refused to answer if there was any resolution between the estranged couple in the future.
'Mad Men' season 6 has been great enough to have me really excited for Sunday's finale, but Kartheiser's hints have me buzzing with anticipation even more.
