Adam Driver, the strongest of the male characters on HBO’s ‘Girls,’ wed long-time girlfriend Joanne Tucker over this past weekend.
The newlyweds met while attending classes together at Juilliard in New York. The pair also had roles alongside one another in the low-budget 2012 comedy movie, ‘Gayby.’
In an interview with Broadway.com--with Driver sounding not too far removed from his untamed Girl’s character--he spoke highly of Tucker. “She taught me what Gouda cheese is, and that you shouldn’t talk with your mouth full and spit on the sidewalk.” He says he taught her to expand her mind by getting her to read things like ‘Rolling Stone.’
There are indications that the two had a destination wedding, though no one has reported on any specific location. ‘Girls’ creator and co-star, Lena Dunham, attended the wedding with boyfriend Jack Antonoff.
The 29-year-old Driver has made the most of his recent roles, featuring in Steven Spielberg’s Oscar nominated film ‘Lincoln’ last year.
As character Adam Sackler on ‘Girls,’ Driver has fully embraced both wild and restrained moments. Over the past two seasons, the character’s manic behavior often interferes with moments of him trying to find love and settle down.
It looks like the real life Adam has found that balance.
