Paula Deen's world is crumbling down around her. Everyday now, another sponsor seems to pull out of her operations and companies are doing what they can to distance themselves from her. The latest to drop her are Sears, J.C. Penney and Walgreens.
But a ray of sunshine may be heading Deen's way. A report has leaked that says that ABC's 'Dancing With the Stars' is considering bringing the chef/TV personality aboard for the newest season of the reality competition. The show apparently is unfazed by her "N word" controversy and in the past it has shown a willingness to take on controversial cast members (Bristol Palin, Kate Gosselin).
It seems like the bottom is falling out for Deen. It is unknown if the worst is over or not yet, but she seems to be doing the right things from a public relations standpoint to get past this. She has admitted guilt and apologized. America seems to love bringing people down, but it also loves building them back up again and seeing them rise like a phoenix from the ashes.
A decision on Deen as a cast member likely will not be known until the show announces its new line-up (which it usually does with a live TV special). The latest season just concluded, so it is not known when the announcement would even be made.
Do you think that Deen deserves this shot? Should ABC take this risk - or is Deen still too toxic to touch?
