USA Network's latest comedy pilot has found their stars: Greg Grunberg, known for his roles on 'Love Bites' and 'The Client List,' will co-star opposite 'The Secret Life of an American Teenager's Diane Farr.
'Divide & Conquer' is an original half-hour comedy pilot from Peter Ocko, producer of such smash-hit series as 'Dead Like Me,' 'Boston Legal,' 'Pushing Daisies' and 'Fairly Legal.' The greenlight for 'Divide & Conquer' came from USA back in May, when it joined three other comedy pilots in development at the network. Those other projects included 'Sirens,' 'Playing House' and 'Love is Dead.' USA recently purchased the syndication rights to the massively-popular 'Modern Family' and is intending on rolling out a new comedy block to mark the occasion.
'Divide & Conquer' is a comedy which gets into the heads of a big family: four children finding their way to adulthood in these complicated times and the parents whose lives they’re sucking dry to get there. Grunberg and Farr will play the parents: Evan is a daydreamer-turned-patent attorney who believes modern-day families are over-parenting their kids, and Charlotte is a career woman-turned-stay-at-home mom who’s trying to help her kids navigate growing up.
Farr has been finding herself in more mothering roles of late, since her 2009 recurring role on 'Californication' that included nudity and sex scenes. Grunberg is no stranger to comedy, often providing comedic relief even on the drama shows he has starred in. Both are television veterans that bring a lot of clout to a project that had little fanfare attached before this announcement.
