'Glee' star Cory Monteith has been found dead at age 31.
Monteith was found on Saturday night in a hotel room in Vancouver, according to CNN. The cause of the actor's death is currently unknown, though foul play is not suspected. Monteith did spend time earlier this year in rehab, following a long history of struggles with substance addiction starting back when he was only 13 years old. He left rehab on April 26.
USA Today is reporting that he died of a drug overdose, though this has not been officially confirmed. Monteith played Finn Hudson on 'Glee' since the show's premiere in 2009. He was slated to return for the show's fifth season, which was to begin shooting later this year.
As of this writing, none of Monteith’s co-stars have publically commented on his death. Only Mark Salling, one of his ‘Glee’ castmates, tweeted “no” as news of Monteith’s death broke.
"We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss,” wrote his publicist, Melissa Kates, in an email announcement.
We’ll keep you posted on any more news that breaks regarding the circumstances of Monteith’s sudden and tragic death.
Monteith’s Twitter followers received the actor’s final public words on Friday; in his final two tweets, the actor expressed confusion -- and later understanding -- regarding what exactly SyFy’s ‘Sharknado’ was about.
