Is Jim Beaver Returning to ‘Supernatural’ Season 9?

Is Jim Beaver Returning to ‘Supernatural’ Season 9?

Bobby’s back! Well, maybe.

It looks like there is a possibility that Jim Beaver - who plays everybody’s favorite hunter/father figure/ghost Bobby Singer - will be returning to ‘Supernatural’ Season 9.

Yesterday, the actor took to Twitter to announce his triumphant return. He tweeted, “Try not to get excited, but I'm coming back to SUPERNATURAL. For real.” Beaver then posted, “No joke. For real. #Bobbysback. I don't know how or why, but I know when. Once I've read the script, I'll know how & why. But you won't. :-) #Bobbysback.”

He continued to divulge information about his comeback, “Read the script. Didn't see this one coming. Whatever you think it is -- it ain't. #Bobbysback.” Beaver even went as far as to post "spoilers" about Bobby’s return, "Got permission to spill plot: It's a spin-off reboot of Sanford & Son with Bobby and Garth, except Bobby has a hot girlfriend named Jody & Garth doesn't have dialog. ‪#‎Bobbysback‬."

Is Jim Beaver Returning to ‘Supernatural’ Season 9?Let me give ‘Supernatural’ fans a moment to shout out a big whoop and a holler. Are you calmed down and ready?

So, there has yet to be an official statement released, but let’s hope Beaver isn’t playing a practical joke on his followers. As most fans know, Beaver is pretty clever at pulling fast ones on his fans via Twitter. In the past, he’s managed to secretly cover up each of his surprise ‘Supernatural’ returns - he even made up a fake movie role.

The announcement comes as quite a shock - and a good one at that - especially since the last time we saw Bobby was in the Season 8 episode ‘Taxi Driver,’ where Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) helped transport Bobby’s soul from purgatory to heaven.

‘Supernatural’ is well known for bringing characters back from the dead; how many times has Castiel (Misha Collins) come back to life? I have no clue how or why Bobby might return, but I do know I will be one happy fan if he does. Who doesn’t - or rather didn’t - love Bobby?

Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this news is true!

SUPERNATURAL'S BEAVER IS COMING... back!  I missed that dirty old Beaver.  But old Beaver is better than no Beaver.  Can't wait to see Beaver again!  I love Beaver.  Beaver is the best!

**********S8 SPOILER**************

Yea, probably will have something to do with the angels falling from heaven... Although if Bobby was to fall, wouldnt that mean all the souls would? He's not an angel.

There are several possibilities, I guess, since shortly after Bobby was sent to Heaven, all the angels got booted out. That lends itself to some options, I supppose. Curious to see what they do. I like Bobby a lot but I don't want to see him back if it doesn't serve a purpose int the grand scheme of things.

It can always be a flash back episode (Bobby training Garth), or even a time travel one. It's not like this universe isn't flexible.

Good news. Killing Bobby was the line in the sand for me, haven't watched the show since missing all of last season and half the previous one.

Count me in as hoping this is true. The show just isn't the same without Bobby.
