‘The Mindy Project’ Adds ‘Happy Endings’ Alum Adam Pally

Despite the comedy’s recent cancellation, this latest cast addition might make ‘Happy Endings’ fans...happy. TVLine exclusively reports that Adam Pally will join ‘The Mindy Project’ in a multi-episode arc.

According to sources, Pally is said to be playing a new doctor at Shulman & Associates, where Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Kaling) and her group of hilarious and interesting employees work.

No word on what type of doctor he’ll play, but judging from Pally’s previous work I’m sure he’ll fit right in at the New York City OB/GYN practice.

The comedy just can’t seem to get enough of guest stars. On Tuesday, it was announced that Oscar nominee James Franco would also join the FOX comedy. He will appear in two episodes as Dr. Paul Leotard, who will fill in for Mindy while she is away in Haiti with boyfriend Pastor Casey (Anders Holm).

Pally isn’t the first of his ‘Happy Endings’ co-stars to join the FOX network. Damon Wayans Jr. will also be rejoining the network as Coach on Zooey Deschanel’s hit comedy ‘New Girl.’

‘The Mindy Project’ is popular for its slew of guest stars, including B.J. Novak (who co-starred with Kaling on ‘The Office), Mark and Jay Duplass, Anna Camp and Allison Williams, to name a few.

The comedy returns to the small screen on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 9:30 p.m. EST.

Raise your hand if you’re excited to see Pally star alongside Kaling!
