The hits from Comic-Con just keep on coming. In yet another announcement that's sure to please fans, fan favorite guest star Amy Acker will officially be joining the regular cast of 'Person of Interest's third season. Acker has portrayed wildly intelligent, yet dangerously psychotic computer hacker Root on the CBS action/drama since late in the first season. Root has appeared in only seven episodes so far, but has still managed to become an integral element of the show's mythology along the way.
Fans will remember that Root was last seen receiving a call from Finch's A.I., otherwise known as "The Machine." While it wasn't spelled out, the season finale gave the impression that both Root and Reese were granted admin access to the system. Despite Finch's best efforts to prevent Root from getting her hands on the machine's power, it would appear that she made some type of connection with the often unpredictable artificial intelligence.
Acker is best known for her dual roles as Fred and Illyria on the beloved Joss Whedon series 'Angel.' She also subsequently worked with Whedon on 'Dollhouse', and the feature films 'The Cabin in the Woods' and 'Much Ado About Nothing.' 'Person Of Interest' returns for its third season premiere on Tuesday, September 24th at 10pm. Remember to double check your DVR settings folks, as the show previously aired on Thursdays at 9pm.
Are you glad Amy Acker is joining the regular 'Person of Interest' cast?
