'Breaking Bad' at Comic-Con: Sizzle Reel Plus 'Talking Bad'
It's been a long, strange trip and we've only got eight more episodes remaining of Walt White and Jesse Pinkman's compelling lives of crime. 'Breaking Bad' is unbelievably popular and has such a massive following that it has birthed terms and phrases into our cultural lexicon: aside from the concept of suddenly 'breaking bad,' it seems that everyone knows exactly what you mean if you tell them that you are the one who knocks.
On August 11, the final eight episodes of 'Breaking Bad' begin--and they won't be alone. Joining these episodes will be 'Talking Bad,' a talk-show series in the same vein as 'Talking Dead,' the companion show to AMC's other smash-hit 'The Walking Dead.' Just how similar will 'Talking Bad' be to 'Talking Dead?' Well they'll both be hosted by Chris Hardwick. The forty-one year old Hardwick is a stand-up comedian and television personality and is the CCO of Nerdist News. Hardwick will now host and moderate a live, half-hour 'Talking Bad' after each of the final 'Breaking Bad' episodes, where celebrities will discuss the episode and speculate on what's the come.
During the 'Breaking Bad' panel that announced Hardwick's new job and the official announcement of 'Talking Bad,' 'Breaking Bad' creator Vince Gilligan spoke of the emotions involved in bringing a labor of love like this to a close. Gilligan admitted that he’s “so sad” that the show was ending. But he added, “We’re all feeling good about [how it concludes]."
Walter White has come a long way since the initial cancer diagnosis that drove him to consider options that he had never before pondered. Check out the sizzle reel of the entire road so far, which aired at Comic-Con yesterday:
