‘Bates Motel’ Recruits Michael Vartan as Norma’s Love Interest

It looks like ‘Bates Motel’ is getting steamier and even more thrilling with the latest addition of Michael Vartan, TVLine revealed on Tuesday.

Vartan will play George, a charming divorcé in his late 40s who just happens to have a romantic effect on Norma Bates (played by the Emmy-nominated Vera Farmiga). In my opinion, who wouldn’t be swept off their feet by Vartan? Will he be The One for the Bates matriarch?

‘Bates Motel’ Recruits Michael Vartan as Norma’s Love InterestIn addition to Vartan, the A&E hit series is also adding two other characters that will have close ties to Norma. It seems Norma will be getting a BFF named Christine, who is a local socialite in her late 30s. The character of Caleb will also join the series, who is Norma’s estranged older brother. Caleb is up to no good and comes to persuade his sister into a shady business deal.

Who do you think is perfect to play Christine and Caleb? Leave your casting suggestions in the comment section.

Vartan isn’t new to the TV world, as he’s most popular for his role as Michael Vaughn (my heart goes pitter-patter everytime I hear that name) on ABC’s ‘Alias,’ in addition to starring in ‘Big Shots’ and ‘Hawthorne.’

The second season of ‘Bates Motel’ returns to A&E in 2014.

Hmm i'll reserve judgement on that choice. The only show i can recal seeing him in was Alias and that character left me rather ambivelant.
