Welsh singer Charlotte Church has some strong feelings about 'X Factor,' and she is not afraid to share them. Earlier this week Church took to her Twitter account to blast the U.K. version of the television singing competition, revealing that she was asked to be a judge on the panel but not surprisingly turned the offer down.
The 27 year old tweeted, "I got asked to do the X Factor job. I'd rather poke my eyes out with sticks than be part of the machine that kills music." Tell us how you really feel, Church! The singer explained a little further how she knew she was not suited for the position. “I had a meeting to ask about the level of involvement in the creative process I could have, and they basically said none unless it was in line with what was required…I wanted to see just how hard line it was. I found my answer and politely declined.”
I have never been the biggest fan of shows like 'X Factor' and 'American Idol,' but I would not rather poke my eyes out with sticks than watch it. Apparently there are people in the music industry who have an even bigger dislike for singing competitions than myself. After Church expressed her intense desire not to become a part of the panel, a source from the U.K. 'X Factor' team came out of the woodwork to say that Church was actually really "boring" and "was never high on the priority list as there were far bigger names producers were looking at."
Sounds like this was not a match made in heaven for either side. Who would you like to see as a new judge on the U.K. 'X Factor' panel?
