Fresh off of the critically acclaimed and highly viewed first season of BBC America's 'Orphan Black,' actress Tatiana Maslany now finds herself a woman in demand. Where is the once and future sci-fi star headed? She's going to a little town called Pawnee, Indiana. That's right, she has signed on for a recurring arc on veteran NBC comedy 'Parks & Recreation.'
This isn't really that surprising of a move for Maslany, who has experience doing improv comedy, dating back to her high school days. She should feel right at home around known comedic wildcards like Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, and Aziz Ansari. Speaking of Aziz, he'll get to share lots of scenes with the lovely Ms. Maslany, as she is set to play a love interest for Ansari's Tom Haverford.
'Parks & Rec.' enters its sixth season this fall, in which the show will pass the fabled 100 episode mark. For those unaware, 100 episodes is generally considered the point when a show can make a bundle selling the syndication rights to its re-runs. Long-time cast members Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones will both be departing the series around mid-season. 'Orphan Black airs simultaneously on BBC America and Canadian network Space. The first season wrapped up on June 1, and the 10-episode second season will premiere in April 2014.
Are you looking forward to seeing Tatiana Maslany spend some time in Pawnee, IN? Will she make a good love interest for Tom?
