'Homeland' Season 3 Poster Demands You Pledge Allegiance

Homeland season 3

'Homeland' returns for its third season next month, and a new poster insists that you start picking sides now.

"PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE" is the tagline for the season's key art, which sees the faces of Carrie Matheson (Claire Danes), Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis), and Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) superimposed across the American flag.

The poster implies that Carrie will be pulled between the two men in her life: father figure Saul (also the newly appointed head of the C.I.A.) and her lover Brody (a fugitive on the run after being framed for a bombing that killed many of Washington's elite). Saul will no doubt be hunting Brody, who has quickly become the most wanted man in the world, and he'll almost certainly encounter resistence from Carrie, who knows (unprovably) that Brody didn't do it. It's just like the show's first season, except this time no one will believe Carrie as she tries to prove Brody's innocence.

What I like most about this poster, though, is the prominence of Patinkin's Saul. Previous seasons' posters have placed the focus solely on Carrie and Brody, so it's nice to see Saul getting some (much deserved) face time on the new season's poster -- and, presumably, even greater prominence in the actual series.

In any case, I'm definitely excited to see the next season of 'Homeland.' What about you?

You can check out the full poster below.

'Homeland' season 3 premieres Sunday, Sept. 29 at 9/8c on Showtime.

Well, I was pretty worried about this - the presence of Brody on the poster for S3. Fortunately I just read a comment by Damien Lewis in a British paper saying he realised why they had to kill off his character.  Brody is history. His danger came from his access - which has now gone - along with his controller, Nazir - so Brody is now nothing - something for the US Marshalls - the CIA need to move on to other things.

Oh just start it already!  Waiting another month is not going to make me watch more then once anyway.  it's not the same when you already know what happened on a show like this.  What makes it different is the lack of lots of filler material so at any moment soimething significvant xcan ahppen.  You do not have to sit through a bunch of filler scenes and episodes for anything significant to happen.

With junky shows like Revolution you could have cut it from 22 episode to 4 by the time you remove all the filler garbage. Only the first and last episode had anything significant happen.  All the other episodes to be cut down to one scene (miles confronting monroe - ep 10) (the later Captain Nevlille scenes after ep 10) (Rachels tower hunt need for the plot) (Aaron & Priscilla - 2 scenes).  You will not sen endless scenes of Brody buying groceries and eating cereal then buying groceries again and then buying groceries again and then eating cereal again just to fill in another half dozens show like you would if JJ Abram did the show instead.  I mean how many billion times to you need to see Charlie shooting an arrow or Miles slicing killing a dozen people with his sword in 20 seconds   It was cute the first time, boring the fiftieth time, but the show needs filler to substitute for anything significant instead.

I must admit I expect there to be too many Carrie is going nuts scenes.  She seems to always pick the single worst moment to stop taking her medications.
