Behind-the-Scenes Interview with the Cast of 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'!
Are you counting down the days?
There's only twenty-two short days until the ABC debut of 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,' a new action series spun out of the Marvel Universe of feature films. The show promises drama, action, comedy, intrigue... but after screening the pilot for the Television Critics Association last month, the highest praise for the series surrounded its cast of characters. Well today ABC released a lengthy behind-the-scenes interview with that cast, to further hype up the debut of 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' on Sept. 24.
That cast includes Clark Gregg (as Agent Phil Coulson, the leader of the team), Ming-Na Wen (as Agent Melinda May, the pilot with a skilled past), Brett Dalton (as Agent Grant Ward, the new recruit), Chloe Bennett (as Skye, the hacker), Iain de Caestecker (as Agent Leo Fitz, the engineer) and Elizabeth Henstridge (as Agent Jenna Simmons, the biologist). One can tell this is a Joss Whedon project when you see the cast assembled and watch the witty dialogue between them in the clips from the show itself. Whedon's biggest hits ('Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' 'Angel' and the cult favorite 'Firefly') centered around ensemble casts with a lot of character interaction; his one flop ('Dollhouse') departed from that formula and left audiences cold.
This certainly seems like a return to form for Whedon, who can presently do no wrong in the eyes of Marvel, ABC, or the company that owns both properties, Disney.
Also featured in the first episode but not a part of this interview are Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill and J. August Richards, who is playing an as-yet-unnamed character with super powers. Check out the featurette below!
