Jodie Foster will get behind the camera once again for Netflix. After directing the episode “Lesbian Request Denied” for the first season of ‘Orange is the New Black,’ Foster will now reportedly direct an episode for the second season of ‘House of Cards.’
Executive producer David Fincher directed the first two episodes for season one of ‘House of Cards,’ establishing the show’s look and feel. Following Fincher, veteran directors to helm episodes of the show include Carl Franklin (‘Devil in a Blue Dress’), and James Foley (‘Glengarry Glen Ross’).
Fincher will not return to direct any episodes for Season 2. Instead, the show’s two stars, Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, will each direct at least an episode. Robin Wright does not have any background directing experience, but Spacey has directed a few films, including ‘Beyond the Sea,’ the musical biopic based on the life of Bobby Darin.
While Netflix has not confirmed Foster working as director for the show, Vulture reports sources confirming she is on location for the show in Baltimore.
Foster, who has acted since she was a child, and starred in numerous films over the years, began her directing debut with an episode of ‘Tales from the Darkside,’ an HBO show in the same vein as ‘The Twilight Zone.’ Since then she has gone on to direct a few other smaller films.
Do you think Jodie Foster will be a good director for the next season of ‘House of Cards’?
