Whoopi Goldberg may be more known for mouthing off on Elisabeth hasselback every morning nowadays, but her roots lie in acting. Goldberg is to guest star on the sitcom “The Middle.’ The show is about a married mother and father of three children, who manage to juggle the daily responsibilities of raising children in the modern day, working, and saving enough money to journey to the future. That last part may not be true, but the series is critically acclaimed and is expected to be renwed for a 4th season this coming summer.
Goldberg is to play a confused and possibly incompetent guidance counselor in the May 2 episode.
Goldberg won an Academy Award in 1990 for her work in the film Ghost. She also appeared in Steven Spielberg’s 1985 hit The color Purple in one of her earliest and most respected roles. Goldberg currently shares a seat on The View after replacing Star Jones a few years prior.
