Looks like there may be a new detective in town, folks. A brand new 'Castle' photo surfaced earlier today, courtesy of TVFanatic, and could possibly hold the answer to a very big question left by the show's Season 5 finale last May.
***Spoilers: Do NOT read any further if you haven't seen the 'Castle' Season 5 finale from last May!***
If you recall, the season ended with Richard Castle proposing to the lovely Kate Beckett, who had been seriously considering leaving the NYPD (and therefore her charming, book-writing beau) for a job in Washington D.C. While her answer has yet to be known, this Season 6 photo seems to be hinting at an answer...and it doesn't look good.
As you can see, 'Castle' will be adding a newcomer to its ranks in the form of Joshua Bitton, who will portray Detective Grant Sullivan. Starting on the third episode of the season, this NYC detective will begin working for the 12th Precinct as a law enforcement officer who is set on proving himself to Castle and the rest of the team.
I'm hesitant to even think it, let alone write it down, but could this mean he's Beckett's replacement??? The fact that he'll be sticking around for an unknown amount of time certainly doesn't bode well for Beckett-Castle supporters. (I mean, HOW could you say no to that man?)
Regardless, Bitton's presence could mark a major turning point for our two lovebirds and foreshadow that not all is well in paradise. Granted, this is all just speculation, so let's hope that I'm wrong. Thoughts?
Bitton has also appeared on other well known TV dramas such as 'Vegas,' 'Private Practice,' and 'Justified.'
'Castle' kicks off its Season 6 premiere on Monday, Sept. 23 at 10/9c on ABC. But until then, sound off on your predictions in the comments below!
