Eliza Coupe may be getting a happy ending after all! The former 'Happy Endings' star has just been nabbed for a recurring guest role on the popular Showtime hit 'House of Lies' during the show's upcoming third season.
The cable network announced the exciting news earlier this morning, while also revealing a few hints about Coupe's brand new character. The actress will play Marissa, a wild-child Internet company head and heir to a wealthy media family. This should make for an interesting change for Coupe, who's most widely known for playing the neurotic, highly competive (but still equally lovable) Jane Kerkovich-Williams from ABC's 'Happy Endings,' which got canceled after its third season last May. (RIP)
Production on 'House of Lies' Season 3 begins this month and will premiere in January 2014. However, this isn't the only show where Coupe will get to demonstrate her acting chops to fans. She'll be juggling her new 'Lies' role with her other current day job as Will Arnett's ex-wife in 'The Millers,' airing this fall on CBS. (Is that a match made in comedic heaven or what?!)
Other additions to the 'Lies' roster include Mekhi Phifer, who was cast in August to play a powerful business mogul looking to help Don Cheadle’s character, Marty, grow his empire. And now with Coupe joining the corporate ranks, it's sure to be a season you won't want to miss. Hey, would I lie to you?
'House of Lies' Season 3 premieres Sunday, Jan. 12 at 10/9c on Showtime.
