Here’s some more news on ‘The Mentalist’ casting front. TVLine has reported that actress Emily Swallow will join the CBS drama for Season 6 as a potential series regular.
Swallow, recently known for her work as Dr. Michelle Robidaux on TNT’s short-lived David E. Kelley series ‘Monday Mornings,’ has landed the role of Kim Fischer, “an enigmatic woman who is going to have a profound influence on Jane’s life.” Fischer is also said to be someone who is not afraid to speak up for herself.
Hmm...that sounds interesting. Do you think she’ll have some insight on Jane’s (Simon Baker) Red John obsession/case? After all, we are going to find out the notorious serial killer’s identity this season.
So far, she is slated for three episodes, but there’s also the possibility that she’ll come on full-time. This news makes sense, especially now that we know Amanda Righetti and Owain Yeoman will be departing sometime this season, which creator Bruno Heller has called the “most dramatic and game changing season.”
We also know that ‘Prison Break’ alum Rockmond Dunbar will also join ‘The Mentalist’ as a possible series regular. Dunbar has booked the role of FBI Supervisory Agent Dennis Abbott, who is a “no-nonsense” guy that is unimpressed by Jane’s wit and unique crime-solving skills.
If these are the two that will fill the Righetti and Yeoman void, do you think they’re a good fit?
‘The Mentalist’ premieres Sunday, Sept. 29 at 10/9c on CBS.
