We're less than a month away from the fourth season premiere of AMC's mega-hit drama 'The Walking Dead,' and the anticipation is steadily building to a fever pitch. The zombie apocalypse series has owned the 18-49 demo for nearly its entire run, and there is no reason to expect that not to continue this year. As an actor, it must feel like the ultimate gift to get cast in such a popular franchise. For actress Christian Serratos, that has now happened twice.
The 22-year-old Serratos is best known for her work as Bella's best friend Angela in the highly lucrative 'Twilight Saga' series of films. TV fans also may remember Serratos from her one season recurring role on ABC Family's 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager.' Now, as first revealed by Deadline, Christian has been cast as survivor Rosita Espinosa in the upcoming 'Walking Dead' season.
Rosita was introduced in issue #53 of the 'Walking Dead' comic book, and remains alive to this day. As we've seen though, a character's status in the comic means absolutely nothing to the writers of the TV show. Serratos may last the whole fourth season, or she may die in the fifth episode. Only time will tell. For now, Serratos will be a recurring player, with the possibility of becoming a full cast member in season five. If she survives, that is.
The 'Walking Dead' returns to AMC on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 9/8c. I'd ask if you guys were going to tune in, but come on, it's one of the most popular shows out there. Most of us will be happily camped out in front of our TV on the 13th, with visions of exploding zombie heads dancing in our twisted minds.
