It looks like poor Ichabod Crane will have a lot more than just a headless horseman to worry about on 'Sleepy Hollow.' TVLine has learned that James Frain has been nabbed to guest-star on multiple episodes of FOX’s freshman hit as Rutledge — a modern-day nobleman who will interrogate Ichabod (who is being passed off as a “visiting Oxford professor”) about his past.
As you would expect, there's more to Rutledge than meets the eye since he supposedly harbors a deep secret that could seriously affect Ichabod's future. But as for what that could possibly be, we'll just have to wait and see. If Frain's past casting history is any indication, it's highly unlikely he'll turn out to be a friend rather than a foe.
Frain is most popularly known for his role as the Season 3 'True Blood' baddie, Franklin Mott, whose main plot centered mostly around stalking Bill and becoming so obsessed with Tara that he eventually kidnapped her, planning to make her his vampire bride. Creepy, right? So one can only imagine the kinds of chaos he'll spread on the folks of 'Sleepy Hollow.' Rest assured, it'll probably make your head spin (or maybe just fall right off altogether).
Frains other credits include runs on 'Grimm,' 'White Queen,' 'The Cape,' 'Invasion,' '24,' and 'The Tudors,' as well as guest spots on 'The Mentalist' and 'Burn Notice.'
'Sleepy Hollow' airs Mondays at 9/8c on FOX. Be sure to tune in!
