Fox has roped in comedian George Lopez, to host its new dating show called ‘Take Me Out’. The show will feature 30 single women who are in search for their perfect match. The show is slated to premier on 7th June at 8pm. Lopez will not only be the host of the show, but will also play the part of cupid when he brings together the women, and the men who are aspiring to take the ladies out on their dream date. Lopez has earlier shouldered the responsibilities of hosting, when he donned the hat of a host for his very own late-night talk show called Lopez Tonight.
The show eventually got cancelled by TBS, last year. Meanwhile, ‘Take me out’ is basically a show about, single women meeting up with a variety of suitors, through four rounds that would be played out in the studio. Each of them would have a light in front of them, which they can keep lit till they find the suitor attractive, and can turn off once they don’t. Turning off the light would basically signify that the girl is no more interested in him. When the game nears its climax, at the penultimate round would remain the guy who has managed to impress the maximum number of female participants and has hence managed to keep most lights on.
Then the tables would turn, and the guy would ask two women that he likes the most, a question that would either seal her fate, or eventually culminate into her going away on a romantic getaway with her suitor. The remaining 29 ladies would stay back for another week, hoping to find love. This show is being produced by the same guys who made American Idol, so these are guys who know what they are doing.
