It looks like Susan Sarandon will be dropping by Chicago this fall. The Academy Award-winning actress has just been nabbed to guest star on 'Mike & Molly' in an upcoming episode of the show's fourth season.

Not too many details have been released thus far, however, we do know that Sarandon will be playing Molly’s idol JC Small, a literary icon with a beautiful mind and a tortured soul. The character has been described by producers as “part JD Salinger with a touch William Faulkner and a sprinkle of Gore Vidal,” and will give Molly a wild, unforgettable writing lesson that will have ramifications for her entire family.

Sarandon herself even gave fans a little look inside her new sitcom role via Twitter on Thursday, commenting that her character likes to have a drink (or two). "So excited to be working with Melissa McCarthy again, this time on Mike and Molly. But why am I always playing an alcoholic?," the actress teased.

Sarandon’s last major TV gig found her playing a self-help author and motivational speaker on Season 3 of Showtime’s 'The Big C.' She also guest starred on 'Friends' back in the day as Jessica Lockhart, a drinking-throwing, soap opera legend on 'Days of Our Lives' who got to make out with Joey by episode's end. (Not a bad deal, right?) So who knows what kind of antics she'll have in store for us this time around.

'Mike & Molly' is scheduled to return to CBS at mid-season 2014. Will you be tuning in?
