The Michael J. Fox Show

CBS won Thursday in all measures, and by a comfortable margin to boot.

The one-hour return of 'The Big Bang Theory' drew monster numbers, with the 8pm episode up six tenths from last year's already high 5.0. The 8:30pm episode did even better, rising to an absolutely insane 6.1. While it's not the highest rated 'Big Bang' has ever drawn, it's very close. Lead-out 'The Crazy Ones' (starring Robin Williams & Sarah Michelle Gellar) held on to a very respectable amount of that 6.1, bowing to a 3.9. If 'Crazy' keeps its numbers in that range, it's a lock for a second season. The CBS goodwill did not extent to 'Two and a Half Men', which only managed a 2.9. Even worse was the second season premiere of 'Elemetary', which was down a full point from last year's opener.

The one-hour premiere of NBC's 'Parks & Recreation' was a disappointment, earning only a 1.3. To be fair, it was up directly up against the 'TBBT' juggernaut. Perhaps the saddest story of the night was the premiere of 'The Michael J. Fox Show.' Fox's highly anticipated TV comeback only drew a 2.2, making it the lowest rated Thursday fall comedy debut in network history. Ouch. Although with Fox's stature, I'm sure NBC will give the show time to find an audience. The season premiere of 'Parenthood' tied its previous series low, continuing the Peacock's bad night.

ABC didn't do much better, with the two-hour 'Grey's Anatomy' premiere dropped a full point from last fall's return. FOX's 'The X-Factor' garnered a 2.1, driving another nail into the formerly highly rated singing competition's coffin. Finally, the season premiere of 'Glee' scored a 2.0, down over a full point from last year. Maybe the fans decided to tune out until Finn's farewell episode.
