Fox had a massive hit with ‘24’ through its 8 seasons and nearly decade-long run, and has continued at least a modest amount of that success into their new drama ‘Touch.’ The series is helmed by Tim Kring, creator of the popular superhero show ‘Heroes,’ and is expecting renewal for the fall 2012-2013 television season.
Kiefer Sutherland is confident that the series will get renewed and is in talks of where the story will go, continuing the season 1 finale which will air May 31st.
‘Touch’ is about a young boy who is mute, yet speaks through numbers. As he recruits Professor Arthur Teller (Danny Glover) he unfolds a mystery the boy is trying to communicate to his father.
The renewal of the series spells trouble for the future of the ‘24’ film. Stuck in pre-production, the ‘24’ film is finding it hard to lift-off. With ‘Touch’s renewal, you have lead character Sutherland, who plays lead character Jack Bauer, tied up into another project and halting production- again. Here’s to hoping they work out a nice middle ground that can bring both projects to life in a reasonable amount of time, or the ‘24’ may be put on the backburner- for good.
