Super Fun Night

ABC & CBS split the Wednesday night victory.

'The Middle' held strong with last week's premiere, dropping just slightly to a 2.3. 'Back in the Game' took a more concerning fall in week two, posting a 1.9. It could always rise next week, but once a fall show settles into the below 2.0 threshold, it's usually only a matter of time before the network drops the cancellation axe. Reigning Wednesday champ 'Modern Family' matched last week's 4.2. and very easily won 9pm. The great lead-in helped Rebel Wilson's 'Super Fun Night' to premiere with a quite promising 3.2 demo. On the plus side, 'Nashville' only fell a single tenth. On the negative side, last week's premiere was already way down from what the show was doing last fall.

'Survivor' recovered nicely after last week's shockingly low number, rising three tenths to a 2.7 for CBS. Conversely, 'Criminal Minds' dropped a tenth to a 2.7. Sadly for 'CSI' fans, the veteran crime series only managed to rise one tenth to a 2.1. I would predict that this season will be the last, but I think it will probably receive a "proper" final season before the network cancels it.

'Revolution' set a new series low of 1.6., and I'm definitely ready to call this one. 'Revolution's lights will be going out permanently after this season. 'Law and Order: SVU' took a huge seven tenths dive from last week. Ouch. 'Ironside's premiere sank like a stone. The Blair Underwood fronted remake of the classic series drew a 1.3, and now ranks as NBC's lowest rated fall drama debut in history. From 'The Event' to 'Ironside,' yikes. Blair Underwood needs to get a new agent. 'The X-Factor' held pretty steady, dipping by a single tenth. An 'Arrow' recap show garnered a 0.5 for The CW.
