'Glee' Releases Heartbreaking Promo for Finn's Farewell Episode

Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele in Glee Finn Hudson promo

Be sure to stock up on tissues this week, 'Glee' fans. FOX has released the first footage from next week’s tribute to Finn Hudson, and (as suspected) it’s pretty much the most heartbreaking thing ever.

The promo, which aired immediately after this week’s prom-themed installment, shows our beloved members of McKinley High (both past and present) all coming together to mourn their fallen friend, as Lea Michele tearfully sings in the background. It's powerful and raw, and offers a clear insight into how the cast felt after Cory Monteith's tragic, real-life death. And that shot of Rachel falling to pieces in Mr. Schue's arms is enough to move even the most avid non-'Glee' watchers to tears.

“What you will see in the episode is what really happened,” creator Ryan Murphy shared with reporters on early Thursday. “Almost everything in that episode is from the first take of every performance… because the actors and the crew had a really hard time shooting it. Everyone went into it with a lot of love.”

We knew this was going to be a devastating episode to watch and seeing this promo only solidifies that fact all the more. Most of the time, TV offers fans a temporary escape from reality. Unfortunately, this is one of those cases that couldn't be anymore real.

Check out the promo clip below and get ready to let the waterworks flow. 'The Quarterback' will air on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 9/8c on FOX.
