Scandal

CBS once again won Thursday in all measures.

'The Big Bang Theory' held very strong, dropping only two tenths from last week's incredibly high 5.5. The premiere of Will Arnett fronted comedy 'The Millers' managed to hold onto a respectable amount of its lead-in, posting a 3.3. Without 'Big Bang' directly in front, week two of 'The Crazy Ones' took a huge full point dive to a 2.9. That said, ratings in the 3.0 range will still get the show a second season. 'Two and a Half Men' wasn't so lucky, hitting a series low of 2.4. 'Elementary' fell to a 2.0, but isn't quite near the bubble yet.

'Grey's Anatomy' held up well, dropping only three tenths from last week's two-hour premiere. The highly anticipated season premiere of 'Scandal' kicked butt and took names. The political drama not only bested its own previous season premiere by a point and a half, but topped 'Grey's by five tenths, absolutely destroying its 10pm competition. 'The X-Factor' dropped a tenth to a 2.0. 'Glee' took a pretty big hit, falling all the way to a 1.6.

NBC's Thursday fortunes didn't improve, with 'Parks & Recreation' dropping to a 1.2. New comedy 'Welcome to the Family' did even worse, garnering a 1.1. That's enough to call it right there. Shows that premiere to a 1.1. don't get another season. It'll be lucky if the network even airs all its episodes. As has become a trend this week, 'Family' is now the lowest rated NBC comedy premiere ever.

It seems that the ol' Peacock drastically overestimated the appeal of Sean Hayes, as 'Sean Saves the World' couldn't save itself from a 1.4. 'The Michael J. Fox Show' drew the best NBC rating of the night, but still only managed a 1.9. 'Parenthood' set a new series low at 10pm. Finally, The CW's new all vampire, all the time Thursday night line-up did pretty well, if not amazingly so. 'The Vampire Diaries' returned to a 1.2 (high for the CW), while spin-off 'The Originals' debuted to the tune of a 1.0.

I felt just the opposite about some of these. Welcome to the family was cute and even though I love Beau Bridges, I felt The Millers was horrible. Too forced and trying way too hard.

Ashton Kutcher is adorible of course but when trying to pull off being stoned, it just doesn't work for me. Two and a half men is way way past its retiring time.

Scandal was amazing and left me wanting more immediately, while Parenthood, even though was always one of my favorites, needs to be put to bed I think.
