Rapper and Grammy winner T.I. is expanding his creative talents to the small screen by starring in Showtime’s hit comedy series ‘House of Lies,’ Deadline has reported.
He isn’t just slated for one episode, but is booked for multiple episodes in the comedy’s third season. So who will T.I. play? He is set to star as Lukas, childhood friend to Dre (played by ‘ER’s Mekhi Phifer). They are also both co-owners of a clothing company and will seek help from Don Cheadle’s character, Marty, in hopes of expanding their business.
Obviously well known for his musical career, this isn’t the first time T.I.'s showcased his talents on the small screen. In 2012, he starred in Starz’s ‘Boss,’ alongside Kelsey Grammer, as Trey Rogers, a gang leader turned hopeful politician. He even popped up on CBS’ ‘Hawaii Five-0’ as Ray, where he played a character who strongly impacted Scott Caan’s Danny.
So, what do you think he’ll bring to the ‘House of Lies’ table? It’s already a successful comedy, especially thanks to Cheadle and Kristen Bell. Do you think it’s a mistake to add T.I.? Or, do you think he’ll bring something different and exciting to the series?
‘House of Lies’ returns Sunday, Jan. 12 at 10/9c on Showtime.
