The third season of Showtime's intelligence thriller 'Homeland' keeps chugging along; after a pretty devastating first two episodes, the show continues tonight with the episode "Tower of David."
Tonight's episode of the series marks the return of Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis), who has been conspicuously absent so far this season. While this episode will see him "[returning] to his faith for guidance" (while meanwhile Carrie "gets a suspicious offer"), what does the rest of the season look like? Recently released synopses for the next two episodes of the season might give us some clue.
The fourth episode of the season, titled "Game On," airs October 20. Here's the official synopsis, courtesy of Showtime: "Over breakfast, Carrie meets a new client and discovers that the crippled CIA can still exert power when required. Elsewhere, Dana runs away and Jess seeks help from the cops in locating her. Meanwhile, Saul continues to trail the money to an unexpected location."
On October 27, meanwhile, we'll get "The Yoga Play," which has an even more intriguing summary: "A mysterious man arrives in the country at the US-Canadian border; Carrie jeopardizes her mission to do a risky favor. Meanwhile, Saul is forced to socialize with his adversary, Sen. Lockhart, on an elite hunting trip. Elsewhere, Dana makes a shocking discovery that could put the brakes on her getaway forever."
Who is this mysterious man at the U.S.-Canadian border? My guess is that it's Brody, finally making his return to the U.S. after five episodes away. Or is it someone else much more threatening?
And, while we're at it, what is it that's shocking enough to stop someone as hardheaded as Dana? Do those topless photos she took at the beginning of the season -- to hereby be called "Chekov's selfies" -- find their way to the public or to her mother?
'Homeland' airs "Tower of David" tonight at 9/8c on Showtime.
