In news sure to make 'Teen Wolf' fans howl, MTV has renewed the series for a fourth season. The big announcement was made this past weekend at the New York Comic-Con. Season 4 will debut in June 2014, and will consist of at least 12 episodes. That said, Season 3 started out as a 12 episode summer order too, but was expanded to include 12 more episodes after the ratings for the first half greatly exceeded the network's expectations. I would expect Season 4 to receive the same double-up treatment if the ratings continue to climb.
As if a fourth season wasn't enough, MTV has also decided to add a brand new after show to the proceedings. Debuting along with the premiere of Season 3's second act, 'Wolf Watch' will be a roundtable discussion program in the style of AMC's 'Talking Dead' and 'Talking Bad.' Recurring 'Teen Wolf' cast member (and former 'Wipeout' co-host) Jill Wagner will host the weekly half-hour chat, with celebrity fans of the show, as well as other cast and crew members appearing as guests.
Loosely based on the 1985 Michael J. Fox movie of the same name, 'Teen Wolf' has been a runaway hit for MTV, posting some of the best 18-49 demos in all of cable. Each season brings with it even more fans, and there's no reason to expect that to stop with Season 4. The second half of Season 3 begins airing on Monday, Jan. 6 at 10/9c.
