Michelle Obama Returning to 'The Biggest Loser'

A year and a half after making her first appearance on reality TV, First Lady Michelle Obama is set to return to NBC’s ‘The Biggest Loser.’ First reported by Broadcasting & Cable, the recently-recorded segment will air in November in conjunction with Mrs. Obama’s latest health campaign.

Throughout her husband’s Presidency, Mrs. Obama has championed healthy living, a balance diet, and daily exercise. Her appearance on the weight-loss competition show will coincide with ‘Drink Up,’ an endeavor launched by the Partnership for a Healthier America and supported by Mrs. Obama and Brita, the German company known for their water filters.

Announcing her support for the cause at an event in Watertown, Wis., on Sept. 12, the ‘Drink Up’ initiative simply encourages people to drink more water throughout the day.

The press release comes ahead of the long-running show’s season debut on Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. ‘The Biggest Loser’ has long joined with various groups and celebrities to promote health and fitness, but Mrs. Obama’s profile is the most significant.

The First Lady appeared on the show in April 2012 in conjunction with her ‘Let’s Move’ campaign that promotes daily exercise to fight obesity. In the episode, she invited contestants to work out in the White House, with Mrs. Obama joining in.

Season 15 of ‘The Biggest Loser’ features returning trainers Bob Harper, Jillian Michaels, Dolvett Quince, and perhaps the most notable contestant, former America Idol winner Ruben Studdard.

No one deserves to be called the biggest loser more than her.
