With every new season, comes new promos, and ‘Supernatural’ is definitely not lacking in that area.
Jared Padalecki, one of the leading men of The CW hit, just tweeted a new Season 9 poster of his series and let me tell you it’s a holy good one. Padalecki, who portrays Sam Winchester, tweeted, “Guess what show has an awesome new poster? And guess who gets to tweet it right now?...” He then added, “AND, does anybody notice anything new?... “
Well, you be the judge for yourself.
So, what does the new poster reveal? One, it reads, “The heavens have opened, but hell will reign.” Two, Crowley is holding fire (after all, he’s the King of Hell -- for now). Three, Sam has...wings!
For those who caught last week’s premiere, Dean made another tough decision to save Sammy’s life. That decision? Letting an angel named Ezekiel, played by Tahmoh Penikett, possess Sam’s body in order to help him heal. Now, Sammy is walking around -- with no clue, I might add -- with an angel inside him. How do you think he’ll take that news, if he ever finds out? I’m going to say not well. These Winchester boys sure like to lie to one another. But, anything to save Sam or Dean, right?
In September, ‘Supernatural’ released a similar poster, but Sam’s wings are absent, Crowley isn’t holding a handful of fire and the poster reads “prepare for the fall.” Check out that poster here.
What do you think of the new poster and Sam’s wings?
‘Supernatural’ airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on The CW.
