Finally! Two months after TNT renewed all of its original dramas (other than 'King & Maxwell,' which got canned), the network has granted a late fourth season renewal to legal dramedy 'Franklin & Bash.'
Created by Kevin Falls ('Journeyman,' 'The West Wing'), 'Franklin & Bash' features Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer as the titular lawyers. The two men are also best friends who have never felt the need to completely grow up, and they bring that unrestrained sensibility to the courtroom. 'F&B' work for the Infeld Daniels law firm, run by founding partner Stanton Infeld (the great Malcolm McDowell). While the duo's hiring was originally part of a scheme by Infeld to to avoid a possible buyout, that didn't stop it from eventually happening during the third season. This brought TV veteran Heather Locklear to the regular cast, a move that seems to have gone over well with audiences.
The fourth season order is for the usual 10 episodes. Locklear's contract was only for one season, so negotiations between her and TNT are still ongoing. The network definitely wants her back though, so I'd expect some deal will end up getting reached. Hopefully her new contract stipulates that she reveal where she keeps that fountain of youth she obviously has. I can't believe that woman is 52-years-old.
Based on past scheduling, 'Franklin & Bash' is likely to return next June. Will you be watching?
