A familiar face is coming back to 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.' Original cast member George Eads, who plays Nick Stokes, will return from his leave of absence from the show.
TV Guide confirmed that Eads will return for an episode airing Wednesday, Nov. 20.
In late August, we followed a story about Eads having a conflict with a staff writer regarding the direction of his character. Showrunner Carol Mendelson heard about the dispute and decided it would be best for Eads to take a leave from the show.
Eads was involved in the first three episodes of this season before taking a temporary leave. The absence of character Nick Stokes is not likely to be addressed in storylines, according to recent reports.
Earlier this month it was announced that Sherry Stringfield, known for her work on ER, would fill a guest role as a “blue-collar” Crime Scene Investigator. Her appearance may be used to fill the void until Eads returns.
Eads, 46, has been with 'CSI' since the pilot episode aired on Oct. 6, 2000. Now 14 seasons in, he shares this longevity with fellow cast members Jorja Fox and Paul Guilfoyle.
While many characters have departed over the years, being replaced with new characters along the way, it’s good to have a few characters, like Nick Stokes, who bring comfort and familiarity.
Stokes is back!! Are you happy that George Eads will be returning to ‘CSI’ soon?
