Celebrity Gymnastics Show Coming to BBC

The timeslot where some of the biggest UK reality shows have aired will soon have a new and decidedly different competition: celebrity gymnastics.

The BBC has announced it will be commissioning the new reality project set to play on Saturday night in primetime. While no official date has been set, the show has the working title ‘Let’s Get Ready to Tumble,’ which likely lends itself to rather extreme opinions.

Nevertheless, the Saturday night timeslot has in the past included ‘X Factor UK,’ and ‘The Voice UK,’ as well as ‘Strictly Come Dancing,’ a popular show akin to ‘Dancing with the Stars’ that is now in its 11th season.

In a similar fashion, this new show will feature veteran and accomplished athletes training celebrities to compete to win the hearts and minds of fans and judges alike. Among those that will give celebrities a crash-course in gymnastics are British Olympians Louis Smith and Beth Tweddle.

While Louis and Tweddle may be known to many for having performed on the world stage, they may especially be familiar to British reality TV fans. Earlier this year, Tweddle competed in and won the eighth season of ITV’s ‘Dancing on Ice.’ Smith meanwhile, appeared on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ last year and also came away victorious.

So, gymnastics will be joining dancing, ice dancing, and diving (ITV’s ‘Splash’) as British celebrity sporting competition shows. No stars have yet been announced, which means it’s time to speculate and make a wish list. Who do you want to see on the show?

Hope it includes some "other than sporting" celebrities - for example Sporty Spice? there must be a few more too who can 'perform'.

The BBC has commissioned this show already, it's not going to.

This article also reads as if The X Factor airs on BBC, when it airs on ITV. Also both X Factor and Strictly are currently airing shows, here it reads as if they aren't on the air anymore and The Voice will be back early next year.
